The
Paris Opéra (also known as
Opéra Garnier) is the second big opera house in
Paris. It was the primary opera house in
Paris from 1875 to 1989, when it was surpassed by the
Bastille Opera. Another grand landmark in
Paris, it was designed by the architect
Charles Garnier in 1861.
